Northland Inc’s The Orchard Business Center Wins Top accolades at MBIE Awards

Northland Inc won a commendation at the Department of Business, Innovation and Employment Top Awards for its innovative and best practice initiative – The Orchard Business and Events Hub.

The initiative caught the jury’s attention due to its innovative delivery strategy.

By creating the Verger, the initiative brought together the region’s business support services under one roof while the event space gave a crush and boost to innovation and entrepreneurship in the region. , with more than 3,000 residents attending the events in space over a period of just three months, the panel said.

Acting Managing Director Vaughan Cooper said the award was recognition that Northland Inc had created an effective business center that provided real value to the Northland business community, and it was gratifying to receive this recognition at National level.

“Receiving this commendation from our peers across the country working in regional economic development is something special,” he said.

“Joseph Stuart and the Innovation and Business Growth team at Northland Inc have worked very hard to get the Orchard collaborative workspace up and running at full speed. They have achieved something important.

“Companies that work from The Orchard are also a big part of the success of this work program, and also deserve to be recognized for their willingness to try something new while operating from The Orchard.”

Northland Inc received its commendation at a gala dinner in Wellington sponsored by the MBIE and hosted by Economic Development New Zealand.
